KEN FRYDMAN

Ken Frydman is a veteran journalist, government and media relations strategist and tactician. Frydman has served as media and government relations counsel to, among other clients: Port Authority of New York & New Jersey; Central Park Conservancy; New York Daily News and its sister publication U.S. News & World Report; New York Sun; Airline Pilots Association (ALPA); Delta and American Airlines pilot groups; NYC Detectives, Captains and Lieutenants Unions; United Uniformed Workers of New York; former AIG Chairman Maurice “Hank” Greenberg; Grubb & Ellis, a major NYC commercial real estate broker; Whirlpool; Fordham University; United Federation of Teachers; and NYC Department of Education; and the Save the Plaza Hotel and Jane Street Neighbors United campaigns.

Frydman was previously executive vice president at Golin-Harris, where he provided marketing and media communications services to Cushman & Wakefield, AOL, M&M/Mars, American Airlines, Special Olympics, Toyota, Visa, Vivendi Universal, L’Oreal, and The Body Shop, among other clients.

Frydman also served as senior vice president for corporate communications and media relations for the New YorkDaily News and U.S. News & World Report. In that role, he sat on both the executive and publisher’s management committees, and served as chief spokesperson for publisher Mort Zuckerman. He has also held senior positions with public relations and investor relations firms in New York City, including Arnold & Truitt, Gavin Anderson & Co., Dan Klores & Associates, and Edelman NY.

In 1993, Frydman was Rudy Giuliani’s spokesman and director of media relations for Giuliani’s first winning campaign to be Mayor of New York.

Formerly a senior editor and advertising columnist for Nation’s Restaurant News, Frydman has written for New York Magazine, Hollywood Reporter, Crain’s New York Business, Daily News, New York Post, Village Voice, Food Arts, Market Watch and other publications.

He holds a B.S. in Journalism and Business from The University of Maryland, College Park, and taught Business Management at The New School for Social Research.
